Adjust your texting.

JK and IDK — these are the most common phrases people use while texting and, alas, it seems they are not the best friends to rely on, at least from what the American Psychological Association’s study shows.

The authors discovered that using texting abbreviations can decrease perceived honesty, which leads to less and shorter messages for the recipient. The theory here is that brief messages are perceived as requiring less effort and that can be quite damaging to your relationships when you come across as if you simply couldn’t be bothered.

Move around!

A new study published in JACC, the flagship journal of the American College of Cardiology showed that extended periods of sitting or lying down, which the researchers referred to as being more than 10.5 hours of the day in a sedentary position increases your risk of heart problems and premature death even if you are exercising.
